WELCOME

This survey is based on the bestselling work of authors David Marcum and Steven Smith in their book, egonomics, and gauges your team dynamics in water-cooler honesty. Water-cooler honesty is the permission and courage people have to speak up about important business issues, listen openly when someone else speaks up, and how effectively both are done.

Those abilities increase candor in meetings, create healthy debate when needed, improve individual performance feedback, and stop the costs of bad ideas and irrelevant projects rather than saving those conversations for the water cooler later (or never). Specifically, this survey assesses:

  1. Can people speak their minds without fear of being labeled or ignored?
  2. Do people hear, and give, feedback effectively so constant improvement is possible and politics don't creep into the workplace?
  3. When people do speak up, do they do it tactfully--or in a way that shuts other people down?

Water-cooler honesty is one of the key traits Marcum and Smith found in their research that defines high-performing teams. So, how does your team measure up: poor, average, good...or great?

Click the "create a new team survey" button below and find out. The survey takes about 5 minutes. When you've finished, invite your entire team (or even your company) to take the survey and then talk about the results.

Once everyone has taken the survey, you'll discover where your team is strong, where you need to improve, and what you can do about it. The responses are completely anonymous and the report is confidential.
